The Trademark Process
Levy, Levy & Sosa, LLP has established a Comprehensive Trademark Package in order to simplify the registration process for our clients. Accordingly, this package provides important and necessary services to maximize the likelihood that the submission of a client's trademark application will be successful and result in registration of the proposed mark.
To that end, we begin with a comprehensive search to reveal if a conflict exists with a prior pending or registered trademark. This process not only reduces the risk of unnecessarily expending money on filing fees, but also may reduce possible future
litigation in connection with a claim for trademark infringement. Where a U.S. registration is being sought, we will conduct a search of U.S. pending and registered marks, as well as a search of registrations in all 50 states and "common law" usages; and with regard to foreign registrations, a search of specific foreign countries or regions will be conducted.
Subsequent to conducting a proper trademark search, a client's application to register a specific trademark will be prepared and submitted by one of our firm's trademark attorneys to ensure accuracy and acceptance. During the entire process our office is only a phone call away, and we will continue to monitor the progress of the application until the matter is concluded.
